CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Three people, including two Chicago police officers, were hospitalized after a car crash on the city's South Side, according to the Chicago Police Department.
Officials said it happened shortly after 3:40 a.m Sunday at the intersection of 47th Street and Union Avenue.
A marked CPD patrol vehicle was traveling east on 47th Street when it hit a black SUV that was going south on Union Avenue.
Both patrol officers were hospitalized in fair condition, according to CPD.
A 22-year-old man was driving the SUV. Police said he felt body aches and was taken to University of Chicago Hospital in fair condition.
No further injuries were reported, and no citations were pending.
