Add enchantment to your yard with fall blooming trees. On this week's episode of the Gardening Tips podcast, the Chicago Botanic Garden's Jacob Burns talks about fall blooming trees.

Seven-son flower and common witch hazel are multi-stemmed small sized trees that add dazzling beauty to any space.

Seven-son flower, standing 10 to 15-feet tall, showcases fragrant white blooms and vibrant red calyxes. These are colorful cuplike structures that surround and protect the flower buds and they shine well into fall. This tree's beautiful peeling bark provides year-round interest.

Common witch hazel grows to about 15 to 20-feet tall, is native to North America, and features striking spidery yellow flowers with a lovely spicy fragrance in late fall. This tree is also known for its astringent properties, making it valuable beyond its visual appeal.

Hardy and low maintenance both trees infuse vibrant charm and seasonal flair to gardens of all sizes.
