(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — If you’re feeling tired on this first weekday of Daylight Saving Time, take comfort in knowing there’s a bill in Springfield to do away with the bi-annual changing of the clocks.
State Rep. Bob Morgan claims that staying on Daylight Saving Time year-round would be good for businesses.
“They would have more traffic, they would have more sales. That would help businesses. It would also, again, help parents like me who every year, twice a year, just shake their heads as they go to sleep knowing their kids are going to wake them up earlier or sleep way too late and not be ready for school.”
The Deerfield democrat says this is one of the rare issues with bipartisan support.
There’s disagreement if the answer should be his proposal or competing legislation to stay on Standard Time. But Morgan said there’s consensus that the clock change needs to go.
