(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- What could be the last horse race at Arlington Park happens Saturday evening.

The mayor of Arlington Heights says he'd miss horse racing, but he's ready for some football.

The owners of the track are considering several offers and proposals for the 326-acre site, including a plan from the Chicago Bears.

Arlington Heights Mayor Tom Hayes on Friday said the Bears might not be the only football team interested.

He said the Arlington Heights village logo currently features a horse head because of the major role Arlington Park has played in the village for nearly 100 years.

But, he noted, a football-related image might be a good replacement for the horse head.
