CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- As the White Sox play their home opener Thursday, owners of bars around Guaranteed Rate Field say they expect they'll have to turn away customers because of the city's COVID-19 restrictions.

One owner tells WBBM Newsradio’s Jim Gudas those rules are too strict.

Richard Rogulich, who owns the Ball Park Pub, on Wednesday said his bar could safely handle up to 25% more customers than the city currently allows.

He says the last thing he wants to do is turn away customers, especially on the day of the Sox home opener.

Even so, Rogulich said he'll follow all of the city's COVID restrictions. He said he's trained his staff to make sure his customers do, too.

The White Sox square off against the Kansas City Royals at 3:10 p.m. before a limited-attendance crowd.
