WILMINGTON, Del. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden delivered a short message around 11:40 p.m. Tuesday where he assured his supporters of a victory.
“Keep the faith guys. We’re going to win this,” Biden said onstage at a drive-in gathering in Delaware with his wife, Jill, at his side. “It ain’t over until every vote is counted.”
Minnesota had just been called for Biden and he said he's waiting on Arizona and feeling good about Wisconsin and Michigan, the latter three which President Donald Trump won in 2016.
Election officials across the country still are processing votes with millions of early voting and mail-in ballots waiting to be counted. Some experts speculated that it may be days before a winner could be officially declared.
“We’re going to have to be patient until the hard work of tallying votes is finished and it ain’t over until every vote is counted, every ballot is counted,” Biden said.
He took to Twitter to reiterate this point.
As Biden concluded his speech, Trump tweeted that he also would make a statement.
