-Relax, unwind and indulge with your choice of libations at the West Loop Spirits and Wine Festival. Dozens of vendors will offer tasting sessions this weekend, and it wouldn't be complete without the complimentary chocolate and other specialty treats. All proceeds benefit Voice of Care, which helps those with disabilities and their families.
-Six-time Grammy award winning musician and composer Terence Blanchard is bringing his unique opera to the Lyric Opera. "Fire Shut Up In My Bones" offers a mix of opera, jazz, gospel and other traditions. It runs through April 8.
-The Chicago Symphony Orchestra takes its audience to the cinema this weekend. Watch a screening of Jurassic Park while the CSO performs John Williams' legendary score. Arrive early for a special 30-minute conversation with conductor Richard Kaufman.
-If you're looking for a more playful kind of art, head to The Museum of Science and Industry for its Art of the Brick exhibit. It showcases more than 1 million Legos that have been transformed into re-imagined versions of some of the world’s most famous art, plus a 20-foot T-rex.
-The Chi Town Takeover wraps up this weekend. The annual event shows up at several high schools and community centers for sports-themed games leading up to the 2022 McDonald's All American Games. This weekend's takeover is hosted at the James R. Jordan Boys and Girls Club.
-Head out to the western suburbs Saturday night to see some of the best Bluegrass bands in the nation. The Naperville Bluegrass Festival is hosted at the Lisle Naperville Sheraton. The goal is to raise funds to start a youth bluegrass camp in the Midwest.
-The Oak Brook Park District offers a sprint triathlon made for anyone. Why Not Tri features a 400-yard swim, 2.5 mile cycle and a mile and a half run. It kicks off Sunday morning at 6 a.m.
