CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Chicago Jazz Festival, a Labor Day weekend tradition that was scaled back in the pandemic, is back.

The fest got underway Thursday in full force as the Andrew Lawrence Sextet performed Keith Jarret's "Treasure Island" at the Chicago Cultural Center in the Loop.

With a full schedule of live jazz shows across the city through Sunday, the festival promotes all forms of jazz.

It showcases Chicago's local talent alongside national and international artists to raise awareness and appreciation for one of the city's most beloved art forms.

Millennium Park will host performances all weekend long.

The full lineup for this year's festival can be found on the city's website.
