(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A Chicago man has been sentenced to nine years in federal prison for robbing an undercover agent in Chicago's Bronzeville neighborhood.

Prosecutors Randy Durr arranged to sell an undercover Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) agent several untraceable guns in a Bronzeville grocery store parking lot in November 2022.

That’s where federal agents set up a sting operation to take the 21-year-old down.

According to court documents as the undercover agent pulled out his cash, Durr whipped out a gun, robbed him and fled the scene.

He was later arrested and taken into custody.

Durr pleaded guilty to robbing a person in possession of U.S. government funds and using a firearm in a violent crime.

He was sentenced on Tuesday.
