CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Chicago teen is tracking down vaccine appointments for seniors.

Some seniors have spent hours - even days - trying to make an appointment for the coronavirus vaccine. But 14-year-old Benjamin Kagen can do it in a matter of minutes.

He a knack for navigating coronavirus vaccine websites.

The freshman at Francis W. Parker spent his winter break helping his grandparents in Arizona and Indiana make their COVID-19 vaccine appointments online. A few weeks later, when the employees at his parents’ wholesale food company, Good to Go Food, became eligible under Illinois’ group 1B, Kagan started tracking down vaccine appointments for them.

Kagan told the Chicago Tribune that earlier this month he found a Facebook group, Chicago Vaccine Hunters, which helps connect people to available appointments.

He joined the group and wrote a post offering help to anyone who needs it.

As of Sunday, Kagen estimates he has connected roughly 115 people to vaccines in the Chicago area.
