(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Rose, Blanche, Dorothy and Sophia are back and bringing the laughs at the Broadway Playhouse this month.
“The Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue” brings TV's favorite foursome to the stage. The play, which features a male cast in drag, begins where the series ends and is equivalent to two half-hour TV episodes.
Ryan Bernier, who plays Dorothy, said the show, which ran from 1985 to 1992, still holds a universal appeal.
“It’s a show with four absolute titans of comedy, TV and talent.
Anybody can sit down and watch that program and think to themselves, ‘Oh, I really am the Rose of my friend group, or oh, I’m actually the Sophia of my friend group,’” Bernier said.
The show runs through Feb. 25 and from May 15-26.
