(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Metro, Chicago’s celebrated independent music venue, has announced it is reopening late next month.
The ornate Wrigleyville institution has been closed for more than a year.
Now, like much of the rest of the city, it’s coming back.
Metro announced six Lollapalooza after-shows, beginning July 27, with headliner Omar Apollo, the 24-year-old native of Hobart, Indiana.
Metro opened in 1982, championing emerging talent and more recently, pushing for help for music venues, musicians and other employees in the entertainment business.
