CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The iconic Nederlander Theatre in the Loop was vandalized Wednesday night sometime in the early evening hours.
To walk by the Nederlander Theatre, located in the Loop’s Randolph Theatre District, on Wednesday night one would see a main entrance glass door completely spiderwebbed and other broken glass on the ground from broken frames where the posters for upcoming shows are usually housed. Some of the posters were taken and a man was asleep in front of the broken entrance door.

A security guard, who had to remain anonymous, was working at a nearby building when it happened.
"I heard the guy when he was kind of going off of the deep end, getting real loud, cussing. I had seen the guy down there, but I don't know him from Adam's house," he said. "That's about it."
The security guard said he doesn’t know what happened to the man that vandalized the Nederlander, but that it appeared to him he was experiencing some sort of mental health episode.
