CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- About 100 Columbia College students and adjunct faculty members made their voices heard Friday as they wait for the college's president to come to the bargaining table.
Adjunct faculty members at Columbia College are demanding a fair contract and that President Kwang-Wu Kim reinstates the 53 core sections that semester that were cut that impacted part-time faculty along with planned course cuts next semester.
Howard Weiss is an adjunct professor who teaches the music appreciation class. He said he's heard of some classes going up to nearly 45 students.
"It's impossible for me to teach 45 students in the amount of time and the attention that those students need... impossible," Weiss added.
"I mean, it's not impossible. They're just not going to get the education. If there's a problem, they're gonna have to go somewhere else."

Many students joined faculty members as they marched from campus to Kim's home.
“We want to be back in our classrooms with our professors," said Hiwot Ayele, a junior majoring in arts management.
"But President Kim continues to disregard our educational needs and is breaking Columbia's promises to students by eliminating or reducing hundreds of classes. Class sizes are doubling or even tripling in some cases. That is not why I came to Columbia."
