A North Side congressman is said to be thinking about running for mayor of Chicago next year.

Congressman Mike Quigley reportedly has commissioned a poll to gauge his chances of doing well in an election battle against Mayor Lori Lightfoot.

According to Crain's, the poll has about 20 questions, asks about crime in Chicago, how well Mayor Lightfoot is doing, and about Quigley's record on crime issues in Congress and when he was a Cook County Board Commissioner.

Other potential candidates listed in the poll include former schools chief Paul Vallas, City Clerk Anna Valencia, Chicago Teachers Union Vice President Stacy Davis Gates and Fraternal Order of Police President John Catanzara.
