Cook County to release 20,000 first-dose vaccine appointments Friday

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Cook County health officials announced Thursday that the county will be releasing approximately 20,000 first-dose appointments for those who are eligible at noon on Friday.

People who live or work in Cook County and meet the eligibility requirements for Phase 1A and Phase 1B of the state's vaccination plan will be able to sign up for appointments at:

• Tinley Park Convention Center, 18451 Convention Center Dr., Tinley Park (Moderna);
• Triton College, 2000 5th Ave., River Grove (Pfizer);
• South Suburban College, 15800 State St., South Holland (Pfizer);
• North Riverside Health Center, 1800 S Harlem Ave., North Riverside (Pfizer); and
• Des Plaines mass vaccination site, 1155 E. Oakton St., Des Plaines* (Pfizer – week of March 15)

*Due to limited supply of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, Cook County Health will provide the Pfizer vaccine at Des Plaines the week of March 15. As with all Cook County Health sites, the corresponding second-dose appointment will be scheduled on-site during the first-dose appointment. 

All vaccinations are by appointment only and proof of being in Phase 1A or 1B will be required.

Appointments can be made at vaccine.cookcountyil.gov or by calling 833-308-1988 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
