
(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — More information about an incident on the West Side in which an off-duty Chicago Police officer fired shots has been released.
The Civilian Office of Police Accountability has released materials related to the shooting last December.
A vehicle with five people inside, including two off-duty Chicago police officers, was on South Mayfield Avenue near Harvard Street.
Someone got out of another vehicle and exchanged gunfire with occupants in the vehicle at the off-duty officers were in. Striking a male civilian.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports internal documents show the two off-duty cops appeared to be drunk, and one of them fired shots.
COPA documents seen by WBBM also indicate that the off-duty officer who fired shots was intoxicated.
That officer has been relieved of police powers as the investigation continues.
