CPD searching for hit-and-run driver who critically injured woman on West Side

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago Police are looking for the person responsible for hitting a woman with their car and driving off on the West Side Monday night.

Police said a 68-year-old woman was critically injured in the hit-and-run, which happened shortly before 8 p.m. near North and Lotus avenues.

Police said the woman was crossing the street when she was hit by a light-colored sedan heading west. The driver kept going.

The woman was taken to the hospital with head trauma and broken legs.

Police said the car that hit her is a possibly gray Hyundai Sonata with a model year between 2004 and 2006.
