CHICAGO (WBBM Newsradio) – Chicago Public Schools is investigating a staff member at William Howard Taft High School on the city’s Northwest Side following allegations of inappropriate interactions with students.
The district’s Office of Inspector General has opened an investigation into the employee at the Norwood Park school, according to a notice sent to families by Taft Principal Ryan Glowacz.
Glowacz said the employee has been removed from the school while the investigation is underway.
The notice said the staff member is accused of engaging “inappropriately with students,” but school officials did not release further details about the allegations.
According to the Sun Times,a final decision about whether the employee will return to the school will depend on what investigators determine.
In the message to families, Glowacz said the school is taking the situation seriously and remains committed to providing a safe learning environment for students. He added that while details of the investigation cannot be discussed, the district continues to focus on student safety.
