CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The CTA is promising to add more rail service on some EL lines.

Starting today, the CTA says there will be more frequent trains during weekdays on the Red, Orange and Pink Lines.

Next Saturday, there will be added service on the Orange and Brown Lines. The CTA says that midday and evening time between trains on the Red Line will drop from 10 to seven and a half minutes.

During the morning and afternoon rush on the Orange Line, it will go from 10 to eight and a half minutes. In the early morning and early evening on the Pink Line, wait time between trains should drop between 12 to 10 minutes.

The CTA says more rail service will be added in 2024, as more rail operators are hired.
