CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Federal regulators found the operator of a CTA Yellow Line train that crashed almost a year ago, injuring dozens of riders, had alcohol in their system.

The medical factual report from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) shows the train operator had a blood alcohol level of .06, three times the legal limit for someone driving a train.

A urine test run later did not find any banned substances.

Thirty-eight people were hurt in the Nov. 16 morning crash when the train collided with a snowplow on the tracks.

A CTA spokesperson told ABC-7 Chicago the employee remains out of service and pointed out the NTSB said the operator immediately initiated the emergency brakes when he saw the snow removal machine.
