NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- DeVry University is moving from Naperville to neighboring Lisle.

The main campus and administrative offices are moving from Diehl Road to the Central Park of Lisle office complex near Naperville and Warrenville roads, according to a Facebook post from the Village of Lisle.

It’s less than a mile away.

DeVry Chief Operating Officer Elise Awwad said the space is better suited to meet their needs.

DeVry filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Education last fall after student loans were forgiven for 1,800 students.

The department said it made “widespread substantial misrepresentations about its job placement rates."

It sought to recoup $24 million dollars.

DeVry said the department was wrong and it mischaracterized graduate outcomes based on outdated information.

The Village of Lisle welcomed the news.

“Lisle is committed to building partnerships that help provide the education and skills needed for the workforce and businesses of tomorrow,” said Lisle Mayor Christopher R. Pecak. “DeVry University’s announcement aligns with that goal by addressing the needs of area industries.

The move from Naperville to Lisle is expected to be complete by the fall term.
