DOLTON (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - There are new calls for change at the top in south suburban Dolton.
At a regular village trustee meeting in Dolton Monday night, residents said they had had enough of Mayor Tiffany Henyard.
“Clean house 2025, [the] clock is ticking, [the] clock is ticking,” one woman said.
But, the mayor insisted she is not going anywhere, and voters will keep her there.
“Know this, I am going to come through on a landslide, just like Trump did,” Henyard said.
Mayor Henyard listened as residents spoke, giving her an earful one by one. They spoke about the change they want to see during elections next year.
“We are your bosses,” one man said. “We are the citizens of Dolton, and you will not continue to treat us like this because you are on the way out.”
Henyard called the exchange at the trustee meeting disrespectful.
Currently there are several people running for mayor in Dolton, and the FBI continues its investigation into the south suburb’s finances.
