CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Hundreds flooded Federal Plaza Wednesday afternoon to voice their frustrations with the Trump administration and what they call “inaction” by Democratic leaders.
In the sea of signs, there was one that read “deport Elon Musk.”
“We did not elect Elon Musk to decide how to spend our money,” one woman shouted.
“Immigrants’ rights are human rights,” was spelled out on another sign.
“They said they were after criminals, but their President is the criminal,” another woman said.
A third sign read “protect trans kids.”
“This is not the time for politics as usual, so we need our Senators to be as fierce as that mom of a trans kid who will do anything to protect her kids,” one participant said.
Members of Indivisible Chicago delivered letters to the offices of Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth, urging them to stand up against the Trump administration.
Until then, those here say their fight is far from over.
“Each of us are going to be coming back and asking them over and over again. We’re watching what they’re doing. If they do not fight, we will remind them that we came to them and told them to fight,” one woman proclaimed.
