KANKAKEE, Ill. (WBBM Newsradio) – Jury selection begins Monday in the murder trial of a woman accused of helping kill a Bradley police sergeant and critically wound another officer at a hotel in 2021.
Xandria Harris is charged in the death of 49-year-old Sgt. Marlene Rittmanic and the shooting of Officer Tyler Bailey.
The officers were responding to a complaint about barking dogs at a hotel near Northfield Square Mall when they confronted Harris’ then-boyfriend, Darius Sullivan, at a hotel room door.
Investigators allege Harris helped disarm Rittmanic before Sullivan shot the officers.
