HOFFMAN ESTATES (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A driver was killed early this morning following a fiery fatal crash at a westbound I-90 toll plaza.
According to Illinois State Police, the single-car accident occurred shortly before 4:30 a.m. on the westbound Jane Addams Tollway’s Barrington Road Toll Plaza. The vehicle hit the toll plaza building and burst into flames.
The fire spread to the building, severely damaging it, ISP said
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
In conjunction with their investigation, State Police have shut down the exit ramp to Barrington Road.
