(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Part of a Norwood Park family’s home is in ruins after the driver of a speeding car lost control early yesterday morning and slammed into the structure.
It was the 32-year-old driver of a BMW who lost control and crashed into the house. He was injured and cited by police.
The crash left Cheryl Kelly’s home near Harlem and Talcott Avenues heavily damaged. Support knocked out of one corner, causing the front of the home to drop and slant.
Kelly told CBS 2 it happened at about 1 a.m.
Neighbors said cars were drag racing near the home.
Since the damaged portion is attached to the front of the house, the family is able to stay at home.
