It’s the Starbucks at York Street and Industrial Drive, and it is the latest in a wave of Starbucks workers across the country filing for union representation elections.
The location is also the first in Elmhurst to petition the National Labor Relations Board.
According to The Chicago and Midwest Regional Joint Board of Workers United, an overwhelming majority of the employees at the store signed union authorization cards.
The majority of workers also signed a letter that has now been sent to Starbuck CEO Howard Shultz.
That letter ended with the sentence: “We Look forward to seeing Starbucks at the bargaining table.”
