EVANSTON (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The village of Wilmette and city of Evanston appear to have found some common ground over Northwestern University’s plans to build a new stadium.

Wilmette residents have been concerned, among other things, that they’ll bear the burden of traffic for Wildcat football games and concerts at the new $800 million stadium.

Now, Wilmette and Evanston have reached an agreement spelling out that construction traffic, concert set-up traffic and concert traffic itself may not be directed into Wilmette.

Evanston will consult with Wilmette over sound dampening systems and ensure that sound measurement devices are set up in Wilmette.

Meanwhile, Crain’s Chicago Business reported that Northwestern is eyeing a number of locations to host its home games while the new stadium is being built. They include Soldier Field, Wrigley Field and Guaranteed Rate Field.
