Exhibit features artists inspired by jazz great John Coltrane

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Saxophonist John Coltrane is considered one of the most influential jazz artists, and he’s still inspiring art.

Norman Teague’s multimedia exhibit at the Elmhurst Art Museum is named after Coltrane’s popular 1965 album “A Love Supreme.”

Teague brought in 30 other artists of color to show their inspiration, and he’s also open to collaborating with the audience through his piece called “The Round House,” which includes strings that visitors can strum.

There’s a listening lounge in the museum’s McCormick House and interactive QR codes dot the walls between sculptures, furniture, blown glass and other pieces.

The exhibit runs through April 28.
