BOURBONNAIS, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Family and fellow officers remembered fallen Bradley Police Sergeant Marlene Rittmanic as a Wonder Woman Friday morning at her funeral at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais.

"She didn't have a golden lasso, but she had the ability to compell people to tell the truth," said Bradley Deputy Chief Craig Anderson.

Lyn Stua calls her wife Marlene Rittmanic her soulmate and reason for living.

"Marlene's infectious smile lit up our house every single morning," she said. "She worked hard, came home, made me breakfast, lunch, and dinner every single day of our lives for 22 years."

Anderson described a conversation he had with Rittmanic about why she marched in uniform with people protesting against police brutality last year.

"She felt that we as police should be open to their cause and by walking with them, she would hopefully get more insight into bringing their voices to the conversation."
