CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A South Side pastor has now been missing for almost a week.

Theresa Boss-French is the aunt of 53-year-old Warren Beard, an assistant reverend at the New Israelite Missionary Baptist Church on West 75th Place.

“Reverend Warren Beard is the glue that keeps this entire family together,” Boss-French said.

Beard's family and dozens in this faith community gathered Monday at the pastor’s church, seeking answers after he disappeared last Tuesday night in Joliet. Police in Joliet said it is believed Beard was last seen in the in the 400 block of North Broadway Street.

“We are all hurting right now because we know that Reverend Beard is not someone who would just disappear without saying a word to his family,” said Boss-French.

The family has not heard from Chicago Police since Saturday. They are only looking for more communication with police on whether Beard’s banking activities are being tracked along with his two cell phones and missing 2023 black Honda HR-V Sport but also asking for the community to step in with any information, by calling either Chicago or Joliet Police departments.

“My family, his church family, his job and community leaders are very worried and concerned for his safety,” Boss-French said.

The family plans on organizing search parties throughout the week.
