CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The Chicago office of the FBI is asking for help from the public in identifying a man who robbed a bank on the South Side in March and, as they sometimes do, they’ve given him a name.
The FBI is calling the man the “Stuffed Bear Bandit.”
He’s wanted for the armed robbery of the PNC Bank Branch at 87th and Cottage Grove on March 6.

“He came into the bank three times before robbing it. What’s significant is first time he came in, [he was] clutching a Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal as well as a 101 Dalmatian animal,” said Natalie Simmons, Public Affairs Specialist with the Chicago Field Office. This is something significant, that if you saw this individual on that day, and you noticed he was carrying these things, you probably would have made a mental note of that.”
There’s a $5,000 reward.
Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI’s Chicago Field Office at 312-421-6700 or submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov.
