Bidding has begun at the Sotheby’s auction block in New York City, for the sweater vest worn by Mathew Broderick in his 1985 portrayal of the hooky playing teenager.

The auction is taking place in conjunction with the 40th anniversary of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, which followed Broderick’s title character and his closest friends as they explored Chicago landmarks after calling out sick from school for the day.

The neo-leopard print sweater vest from that legendary day, now expected to fetch $300,000-$600,000 and will remain on public display at the Sotheby galleries in NYC until June 24th when the bidding ends.
