(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Travelers at Midway International Airport will have a new space to work and relax by this time next year.

Midway is opening its first-ever lounge in its 95-year history. "The Club MDW" will be located in the airport’s Central Market at the intersection of Concourses A and B and will offer food and drinks.

The Club MDW will be accessible through the Priority Pass airport lounge membership program. Flyers can also buy a day pass for $50, officials said.

The lounge is the "next step in elevating the passenger experience,” Jamie L.
Rhee with the Chicago Department of Aviation said.

The 3,300-square-foot club will draw inspiration from Chicago’s rich architectural history in its design. It will be available for all travelers.

Construction will begin early next year. It's set to open in the fall of 2024.
