LAKE FOREST (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The Superintendent of the Lake Forest and Lake Bluff School Districts has confirmed that a food service worker at Lake Forest High School was fired over inappropriate conduct with a student.
This was first reported by an organization called Parents Care, who said an adult food service worker’s employment was terminated for soliciting a relationship with a minor.
Superintendent Matthew Montgomery issued a letter to the school community on Friday.
“On February 21, administrators at LFHS received a report that a temporary worker had passed a note with a phone number on it to a student. Once we received the report, the administrators confirmed the accusation by reviewing security footage, immediately removed the employee from the food service setting, and launched a full investigation,” Montgomery wrote.
He said the employee was removed from school property within an hour.
A complaint regarding the employee's misconduct was filed with the employment agency, and administrators also contacted DCFS.
