HIGHLAND PARK (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A former Ravinia employee is accused of embezzlement.
39-year-old Michelle Bringham of Glenview worked as an accounting coordinator for the Ravinia Festival Association and, Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul said, she stole more than $110,000.
It's alleged she wrote checks to a fake vendor.
"It is unacceptable for an employee to abuse their position as a fiscal officer to forge checks and steal from a nonprofit organization," Raoul said in a statement.
Bringham is charged with felony deception and forgery. Maximum sentence, if she’s convicted: 35 years in prison.
