CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police are investigating four armed robberies in a span of 15 minutes on the Northwest Side Tuesday night.
A gray sedan was listed as the getaway car in three of the four crimes.
Police said between 9:25 and 9:40 p.m. armed robbers struck in Wicker Park, Logan Square and Humboldt Park.
The first victim was a 60-year-old man standing in a parking lot near Division and Campbell.
Then, a 66-year-old woman was robbed getting out of her car near Bloomingdale and Fairfield.
Police said, next, two gunmen tried to rob a 25-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man in front of a home near Hirsch and Rockwell, but the victims escaped.
Police said a 41-year-old man unloading groceries near Wabansia and Sawyer was held up next.
The robbers took phones, wallets and a purse. The older woman went to the hospital in good condition. No one else was hurt.
These incidents are not included in the department's robbery stats yet. Eighty-three more victims were added over the weekend, bringing the total through Monday to 7,627, up 42% compared to last year.
