CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — It’s that time of year again, when Chicago museums offer free admission days to Illinois residents.

The Art Institute of Chicago is now offering free admission to Illinois residents every Monday, Thursday and Friday until March 24.

Patrons will need to show proof of residency before exploring one of the largest permanent art collections in the United States.

Other Chicago museums offering free admission days in January include the Adler Planetarium, the Field Museum and the Dusable Black History Museum.

On Wednesdays this month, the DuSable Black History Museum and Adler Planetarium are free. Plus, the Shedd Aquarium is offering free entry to residents from Jan. 12 – 16.
