CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The area will continue to experience bitterly cold weather the next two days, with temperatures expect to fall below zero overnight.
The Artic air pattern that settled over the Midwest yesterday will remain in place until Wednesday. AccuWeather says we’ll reach today’s high of 14 degrees by midday and then temperatures will begin to dip, bottoming out to an average of 2 degrees below zero overnight for the majority area, and even colder in some outlying areas. During the day, wind chills could be as low as 10 below zero.
This will be the coldest temperatures since the Christmas weekend a little over a month ago.
Tomorrow, the temperatures will remain frigid. The forecasted high is 15 degrees, according to AccuWeather.
Fortunately, a brief warmup is on the way. Temperatures will climb to around 30 on Wednesday and Thursday, before falling back down to the teens.
