COUNTRY CLUB HILLS (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- One of two suspects who attempted to rob an armored vehicle Monday morning in the south suburbs is believed to have been wounded, authorities said.

The incident occurred at 11 a.m. outside the Walmart Supercenter near 167th and Pulaski in Country Club Hills. A pair of suspects had a shootout with occupants of the armored vehicle and a store security officer in the parking lot, officials said.

Afterward, the suspects reportedly ditched the car they were in and carjacked a motorist to flee the scene.

FBI agents responded earlier to a robbery at a U.S. Bank in Matteson, located on Lincoln Highway near Kostner. The agency did not rule out the two incidents being related.
