CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A Hoffman Estates man has been sentenced for his part in starving two dogs to death.

The two dogs were discovered in March 2020.

Naperville Animal Control discovered the lifeless body of one of the dogs, a German shepherd weighing only 20 pounds, later determined by a veterinarian to have died from Parvo, starvation and rat poisoning.

The second dog, a corgi, found by investigators and weighing only four pounds, died of severe starvation.

Andre Norris, 29, has now pleaded guilty to three felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and was sentenced to the maximum of three years in prison, according to DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin.

Twenty-one-year-old Sarah Gorski, who had lived with Norris, has also been charged and is due in court this week.
