(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — One of Chicago’s few LGBTQ+ health care centers is shuttering two of its locations.
Primary care, dental care and behavioral health are the core services of Howard Brown Health, but soon, patients will no longer be able to access that care from locations in Chicago’s Lake View and New City neighborhoods.
The company announced plans to close its Lake View neighborhood clinic and its Threshold Souths clinic.
Both locations will close in the early fall of 2024. Howard Brown Health officials said it will work to accommodate patients at nearby clinics.
The organization said it is addressing a $6.6 million deficit by refining operations.
Most affected staff will reportedly be reassigned to other locations.
