Police are investigating the apparent shooting deaths of five people inside a home in Mundelein Sunday.
Neighbors are shocked, while we wait for the official identification of the three men and two women who were killed.
The police department says officers found the bodies and two guns when they responded for a well-being check inside the red split level at about 11:45 p.m.
Neighbor Samuel Escobedo thinks the shooting may have happened about 12 hours earlier, when he heard what he initially thought were firecrackers.
He and others who live along Prairie and Wellington describe the elderly couple as lovely people.

One woman said she’s shocked at the killing of the retired veterinarian who would chat about her cat and flowers while out walking.
A former employee who worked with the couple and their adult son at a local cat clinic tearfully said they were the best bosses she ever had.
Police say this appears to be an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the public.
