
(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Howard Brown Health received notice Thursday night that it’s unionized health care workers will go on strike this month.
The Illinois Nurses Association has told Howard Brown Health that health workers will strike for two days beginning Tuesday November 14, citing dozens of labor law violations and the need for a fair contract.
The Vice President of External Relations at Howard Brown Health, Katie Metos has responded writing in part that she is disappointed the announcement comes on a day when negotiations were to be revisited with a third party mediator.
Howard Brown CEO David Ernesto Munar in a statement said that optimism remains a contract can be reached before the strike.
