CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Police and the coroner in Will County are trying to sort out a grisly find – human remains – in a wooded area in Joliet Township this week.
The Will County Sheriff’s office said a human skull, femur and ribs were found scattered in a wooded area off the 700 block of Patterson Road near the Des Plaines River in Joliet Township Wednesday.
The Joliet Herald-News reported Joseph Swan and a couple of brothers-in-law were walking in the area to check it out since Swan was new to the area, when they stumbled upon the remains. Swan said he had trouble sleeping after that.
The Will County Coroner and Sheriff’s office have been trying to figure out who the person was and how long the remains may have been there.
