(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Forbes has released its list of the wealthiest people in the United States for the first time since 2019.

There are billionaires in all but three states, according to the news outlet: Alaska, Delaware and West Virginia.

None, though, are younger than the richest person in Illinois: 36-year-old Lukas Walton, whose grandfather, Sam Walton, founded Walmart.

Lukas Walton calls Chicago and Jackson, Wyo., home. His estimated net worth is about $23 billion.

Ken Griffin was the wealthiest person in Illinois with a net worth of about $33 billion, but since he left the state in 2022, he’s now Florida’s wealthiest resident.

There are 179 billionaires in California, 130 in New York, 92 in Florida and 73 in Texas. Illinois has 23.

Topping the list, Elon Musk, who lives in Texas and has a net worth of nearly 234 billion.

Forbes’ full list can be found here.
