INDIANA (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Republicans in the Indiana legislature are fast-tracking a bill to ban employer vaccination mandates.
Governor Eric Holcomb said he's not convinced this is the right thing to do. He's "unpersuaded," he said.
"I just think businesses have a better sense on how they can conduct their business in a safe way."
Some business interests are opposed as well.
"I think there's a lot of concerns from a lot of our members dealing with both a public health emergency and doing that and dealing with giving people protections regarding the vaccine," said Republican House Speaker, Todd Huston.
Democrats are critical of the use of the phrase "vaccine status discrimination" in the senate version of the legislation.
They said it would discourage vaccination and would cost lives and livelihoods.
