(WBBM NEWSRADIO) - General admission tickets for next Monday’s Chicago mayoral inauguration have been snapped up, but additional tickets are expected to be released later this week.

Organizers of the event at Credit Union 1 Arena (UIC Pavilion), 525 S. Racine Ave., announced the process for acquiring free tickets online. By Monday afternoon, they said all available tickets were gone, and a waiting list was being compiled.

"We will release additional tickets in the coming days," a notice posted online said.

Johnson will be sworn in as the 57th Mayor Chicago on May 15. The ceremony will also include the swearing in of city alderpeople and other executive officers.

Doors will open at 8:30 a.m., and the ceremony will begin promptly at 10:30 a.m. Guests are urged to arrive early for security screening.
