CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police are trying to identify members of a crew that burglarized two popular restaurants, among other businesses in recent days.
There’s surveillance video from the burglaries of Piccolo Sogno in West Town-400 block of North Halsted- and Lula Cafe in Logan Square-2500 block of West Kedzie.
Chicago Police believe the same four people committed both as well as several other burglaries, forcing entry and stealing cash, safes and electronics.
The four, faces mostly covered, were seen in the dining room at Lula Cafe. One was carrying a safe.
One thing that ties these and several other burglaries together, according to police, is a black, four-door Infiniti sedan.
According to police, Piccolo Sogno was targeted early Sunday morning, while Lula Cafe was broken into on June 30.
Last month, Lula Cafe received a James Beard Award, considered an Oscar in the food world, for Outstanding Hospitality. The Logan Square spot, known for its brunch, opened in 1999.
